All about Bath Bombs

Handmade bath bombs are one of life's luxuries that, once discovered, you wonder how you enjoyed a bath without one! These bath products are made primarily with Bicarbonate of Soda and Citric Acid. The bath bomb reacts to your bath water causing it to fizz and bubble, dispersing whatever delights it contains, be it flowers, oils, butters or fragrance. Some bath bombs will even colour your bath water or add a touch of sparkle. It all depends on what you like from your bathing products. We have spent years perfecting our handmade procedure to ensure you get a well-packed, fizzy, perfectly fragranced bath bomb.

Bath bombs are a single-use item, and they may have therapeutic qualities due to the presence of certain essential oils, moisturising oils and butters. Some handmade bath bombs contain extra ingredients such as Epsom Salts, known for its skin softening properties, bath salts to soften the water and flowers to decorate. Note- if you don't want the flowers floating about your bath, simply pop the bath bomb into an organza or muslin bag to catch them! You'll still get all the lovely goodness from the bath bomb without the potential mess.

To use a bath bomb, you need to draw a bath that is the perfect temperature for you. Take the phone off the hook, hang one of our 'Do Not Disturb' signs on the door. Light a few candles and get everything you need to hand- candles, chilled glass of wine, magazines (or in our resident Wiccan Magpies case, a huge bar of chocolate!). Climb into your bath, and once you are settled, drop the bath bomb into the water and let it fizz around you, releasing it's wonderful aromas and oils. Some bath bombs will float, some will sink but they all fizz wonderfully! Of course there is no set time limit for wallowing, but we recommend at least half an hour (read 90 minutes!) for total relaxation.
